Accredited Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency (2026-2027) (LIVE-STREAMED ONLINE AND ON CAMPUS)
About This Event
Tufts University School of Dental Medicine’s Dental Sleep Medicine Mini-Residency is a 6-month program where participants engage with world-renowned experts in the field through lectures and workshops, both live-streamed online and in person. This program has been designated as an Accredited AADSM Mastery Program Provider at the Tufts Craniofacial Pain and Sleep Center. The program includes three modules, each consisting of three days of lectures, workshops, and inter-module guided learning. Participants will learn about dental management of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), adjunct therapies, clinical guidelines, and legal issues related to sleep medicine. The course is designed for dental professionals looking to expand their understanding of dental sleep medicine and is eligible for AADSM Qualified Dentist designation.
Learning Objectives
- Develop a deeper understanding of sleep and related disorders
- Understand the interrelationship between TMD and sleep
- Develop proper examination principles and bite registration techniques
- Learn how to screen, evaluate, refer, and manage OSA patients
- Obtain an unbiased review of oral appliances for OSA management
- Practice bite registration techniques
- Gain experience with custom-fabricated oral appliances
- Incorporate dental sleep medicine into practice.
