Advanced Applications of Cone Beam CT in Dental Practice
About This Event
This advanced-level course builds on foundational CBCT principles to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in 3D radiographic imaging. Curriculum includes in-depth radiographic anatomy, advanced radiation biology and safety, and extensive training in CBCT interpretation. Friday afternoon focuses on advanced radiographic interpretation emphasizing normal anatomy and pathological findings. Saturday morning is a hands-on workshop engaging participants with CBCT viewing software. Case-based exercises include dental implant planning, endodontic diagnosis, evaluation of growth and development, and review of pathologic conditions.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the correlation between recognizing normal anatomy and the detection of abnormalities.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding radiation exposure from dental CBCT and its relevance to personal radiation safety.
- Appy CBCT viewing software to interrogate volumes for clinical use, including treatment planning and diagnostic evaluation.
