
California Dental Practice Act Update
About This Event
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to: Chapter 1: Describe the scope of practice for dental professionals. Chapter 2: Understand the laws governing licensure/re-licensure and certification of dental professionals, including the scope of duties for each branch of dental auxiliary. Chapter 3: Identify violations of the Dental Practice Act, including all aspects of ‘unprofessional conduct’ and understand what the CA Dental Board’s Discipline and Enforcement options are. Chapter 4: Understand the prescription writing and dispensing regulations in CA for all classes of controlled substances. Chapter 5: Be familiar with the Diversion Program in the state of CA. Chapter 6: Understand the rules governing Mandated Reporting on Child Abuse and Domestic Violence and reporting options. Chapter 7: Understand Laws and Ethics and how laws governing dentistry are designed to protect the public.
