
Dental Assistant’s Role in Supporting Complete Dentistry
About This Event
This intensive two-day, hands-on course teaches dental assistants the skills necessary to support dentists in diagnosis and treatment planning for Complete Dentistry. Through a programmed approach to gathering patient information and records, participants will learn how digital photography, computer diagnostics and mounted digital casts contribute to accurate diagnosis and predictable restorative outcomes. The course covers selection of impression trays, techniques for excellent pre-operative impressions (Alginate vs. Polyvinyl), taking and transferring face-bow recordings, assisting with bite records, pouring and mounting models, mounting upper and lower casts in centric relation (CR), and verifying mountings. Outcomes: be able to perform consistent, high-quality impressions; capture diagnostic photography for co-diagnosis and practice growth; record and transfer face-bow and bite records; pour and mount models to support treatment planning; and effectively assist during new patient examinations to identify patient wants and needs. Class size: 20. Class hours: Day 1 & 2 – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Instructor: Dr. Shannon Johnson. CE Credits: 14. Tuition: $1,895 per assistant.
