Dentistry + Physical Therapy by Dr. Leslie Hovda
About This Event
Dentistry and Physical Therapy make a good team for the patient with head, neck or jaw pain. In this course, you will learn the history of the profession of PT, details about the components of a PT exam and review common treatments that may be utilized. We will then take those components and see how they might apply to a dental patient who has neck pain, headaches, temporomandibular disorders or vestibular issues. Finally, you will be provided with an easy screening tool for identifying patients who may have temporomandibular disorders. You will learn how to identify and connect with a PT in your area in order to build a collaborative relationship. You should leave this course feeling confident in referring to a PT and discussing that decision with your patient.
