Designing and Making Partial Dentures Refresher Course

About This Event

This 3-day hands-on course is designed for general dentists to review the concepts and steps in making removable partial dentures (RPD). Treatment planning and design concepts will be reviewed. Every fabrication step will be covered from lecture presentation as well as hands-on session including tooth preparation, impression taking strategy, jaw relation record consideration, to framework try-in and adjustment protocol during the insertion phase. Finally, common denture complaints will be addressed including clasps adjustment, denture repair and reline. Some completed cases will be presented and reviewed to enhance the learning experience.

Learning Objectives

  • To review basic RPD design and treatment planning concepts
  • To review the basics of RPD components (major connectors, minor connectors, clasps options etc)
  • To describe procedural considerations from tooth preparation, final impressions to, metal framework try in and denture adjustment
  • To learn to troubleshoot common denture complaint/concerns
  • To review some cases on design and procedural step
