In this course, Dr. Maggio provides scientific evidence of what we currently know about this phenomenon. After discussing the etiologies, protocols will be developed to find and manage the causes for individual patients. Specific indications for restoring these lesions will be presented, with helpful techniques for restoration of these challenging lesions.
Learning Objectives
- See the multifactorial cause of these lesions, and distinguish between occlusal wear and acid erosion.
- Know how to counsel patients on tooth brushing, acidic foods and drinks, and occlusal habits.
- Choose the best material for each lesion: resin composite, glass ionomer or sandwich restoration.
