IV Moderate Sedation Training for Dentists
About This Event
This course meets the parenteral moderate sedation educational requirements of the RCDSO. Registrants of this course should review the RCDSO Standard of Practice to understand the total requirement for providing this modality of sedation.
This course will cover:
– Patient assessment for safety and appropriateness of IV sedation
– Review of cardiovascular and respiratory physiology
– Review of pharmacology of sedative agents
– Review of sedation guidelines
– Patient monitoring and recordkeeping
– Office set-up
– Sedation-related medical emergencies sessions
– Hands-on venipuncture techniques
– Hands-on patient sedations (20 cases)
Participants will have to successfully complete an evaluation on the knowledge and skills they have learned during this course.
