About This Event
Digital dentistry is more than scanners, printers, or CAD software—it’s about creating efficient, reliable digital workflows that integrate fundamental prosthodontic principles and evidence-based procedures. This course will review factors influencing intraoral data acquisition methods and digital implant scans, virtual patient integration, facial scanners, jaw tracking systems, and artificial intelligence, with a focus on literature that supports these technologies. The presenter, Dr. Marta Revilla-León, Faculty and Director of Research and Digital Dentistry at the Kois Center, will draw on her extensive research and clinical experience in digital prosthodontics. Agenda/outcomes include: review of intraoral data acquisition methods; operator and patient factors affecting accuracy; digital implant scanning techniques; digital occlusion and virtual patient integration; discussion of supporting literature and practical implementation strategies.
