Orthodontics for the General Dentist or Pediatric Dentist
About This Event
This continuing education course enhances practitioners’ foundational knowledge of orthodontics, beginning with Andrews’s Six Keys to Occlusion and classification of malocclusion. It teaches identification of malocclusions, orthodontic records and diagnosis (including cephalometrics), treatment planning and sequencing, interceptive (Phase I) and comprehensive treatment strategies, and case presentations covering Class I, II, III, non-extraction, extraction, and surgical cases. The course addresses fixed appliances and clear aligners, case selection, biomechanics, and orthodontic instruments/materials (brackets, bands, wires). Workshops provide hands-on experience in bracket bonding and archwire placement. The program helps clinicians determine which cases can be managed in-office and which require referral to an orthodontist.
