
Restoratives 1 & 2 Permit – Expanded Function Dental Assistant/Dental Hygienist
About This Event
This didactic and preclinical laboratory course prepares Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists to perform expanded functions with confidence and precision. The program provides knowledge and hands-on practice to master direct restorations using composite, amalgam, and glass ionomer materials for Class I, II, III, IV, and V preparations, emphasizing preparation design, material properties, finishing and polishing techniques, and clinical protocols. Recorded lectures are released by module with live interactive Q&A Zoom sessions followed by quizzes. Laboratory sessions at UNMC College of Dentistry provide over-the-shoulder guidance, step-by-step handouts, practicals, mock boards, evaluation and feedback. Designed to fulfill EFDA/EFDH Restore Permit 1 & 2 requirements for the State of Nebraska.
