The PERIO Masterclass
About This Event
The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine presents a comprehensive two-day PERIO Masterclass with international periodontal specialist Dr. Reena Wadia. Day 1 is a didactic lecture covering history taking, risk factors, the 2017 periodontal classification and treatment guidelines, patient motivation and oral hygiene instruction, hand and ultrasonic instrumentation, Guided Biofilm Therapy, and perio-systemic links. Day 2 (optional small-group hands-on session) focuses on contemporary non-surgical periodontal therapy techniques including probing, dental biofilm management, hand instrumentation, ultrasonic use, and Airflow, plus a communication and business workshop. Attendees will gain practical, actionable skills to implement emergent periodontal treatment protocols in everyday practice. Clinic-appropriate attire and eye protection required for hands-on portion.
