About This Event

This dynamic 6-hour continuing education course is designed to enhance healthcare providers’ proficiency in screening and interpreting blood glucose levels. Topics include diseases impacting blood glucose, recognizing at-risk populations, proper glucose monitoring techniques, demonstrating screening and glucose testing techniques, oral care considerations for diabetic patients, responding to blood glucose related medical emergencies, and referral to primary care or endocrinology. Participants will develop clinical skills to perform glucose screening, increase confidence in identifying and managing patients at risk for blood glucose irregularities, improve patient outcomes through timely intervention and referrals, and strengthen interprofessional relationships.
