About This Event

In recent years, pediatric sleep disordered breathing (SDB) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) have received more public attention. OSA affects up to 1–5% of children and millions experience related issues, prompting improved screening, diagnosis, and earlier treatment. This course reviews medical and dental etiology, treatment modalities, screening methods (including the Pediatric Sleep Questionnaire and airway evaluation), and the role of dentists and physicians on multidisciplinary teams. Educational method: Zoom lecture. Presenter: Jacy Stauffer, DMD, FAAPD, AADSM-Qualified Dentist. Provided by University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in conjunction with the Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE).
