About This Event

This intensive hands‑on course integrates TMD evaluation and management with airway, breathing and sleep disorder considerations. You will learn TMJ anatomy and function, the Piper Classification of TM disorders, and how to interpret CT/MRI imaging. Course work covers systematic clinical evaluation, differential diagnosis, occlusal splint therapy, joint and pain management, and practical dental interventions to address airway problems (including screening and testing for UARS and Sleep Apnea). Agenda: Day 1 & 2 — 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Day 3 — 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Outcomes: master joint and airway evaluation, connect bruxism to breathing disorders, and implement splint and dental treatment strategies. Instructor: DeWitt Wilkerson, DMD. Prerequisites: none. CE Credits: 20. Tuition: $5,795 per doctor or technician.

Learning Objectives

  • Each participant will learn TM Joint anatomy, function, dysfunction, the Piper Classification of TMDisorders, CT/MRI imaging interpretation
  • Each participant will learn to screen & test in their practice for breathing related sleep disorders, including UARS & Sleep Apnea
  • Each participant will participate in hands-on exercises to understand the role of occlusal splint therapy, joint surgery and pain management
  • Each participant will participate in hands on exercises to understand dental solutions/biohacks for airway problems
