ACDE: Prescribing Antibiotics as Prophylaxis

Dentists often encounter medically complex patients and need to decide if antibiotic prophylaxis is indicated. This live webinar will provide a comprehensive review of ADA and AHA guidelines, AAOS Appropriate Use Criteria, and best practices across clinical scenarios. Topics include bacteremia-associated antibiotic prophylaxis, prevention of infective endocarditis, prevention of prosthetic joint infection, surgical antibiotic prophylaxis, prophylaxis to prevent wound site infection in high-risk patients, miscellaneous conditions lacking general guidelines, and antimicrobial resistance and antibiotic stewardship in dentistry.
