
ACDE: Treating Patients on the Autism Spectrum
About This Event
This LIVE webinar presented by UNC Adams School of Dentistry in conjunction with the Association for Continuing Dental Education (ACDE) provides an educational foundation on Autism Spectrum Disorder for healthcare practitioners and personal care providers. The course aims to instill confidence in clinical decision making and treatment planning and to inspire creativity in making chairside accommodations to enable safe and effective care. Educational objectives include discussion of oral health risks prevalent among people with ASD; description of systemic conditions commonly affecting people with ASD; listing techniques and equipment useful when providing clinical care to a person with ASD; comparison of oral health aids that could assist a person with ASD; and guidance on communicating with ASD specialists for collaborative care. The event is scheduled as a live, scheduled webinar and attendance requires registration and 2nd step verification. Cancellation policy: refunds less a $15 fee if received one week prior to course; no refunds if registering less than one week prior. ADA CERP: 2 credit hours.
