
ACDE Webinar Series: Treating Patients on the Autism Spectrum
About This Event
This course provides an educational foundation of Autism Spectrum Disorder for healthcare practitioners and personal care providers to build confidence in clinical decision making and treatment planning, and to inspire creativity in chairside accommodations for safe, effective care. Agenda/contents: overview of oral health risks prevalent in people with ASD; systemic conditions commonly affecting people with ASD; techniques and equipment useful for clinical care of patients with ASD; comparison of oral health aids for people with ASD; strategies for communicating and collaborating with ASD specialists. Includes lecture and PowerPoint presentation via Zoom Webinar. Outcomes: participants will be able to discuss oral health risks, describe systemic conditions, list useful techniques/equipment, compare oral health aids, and communicate with ASD specialists for collaborative care.
