About This Event

The BLS Healthcare Provider Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages, including ventilation with barrier device, bag-mask device, and oxygen; use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO). This course meets updated licensure requirements and is intended for participants who provide healthcare to patients, whether certified or noncertified, licensed or nonlicensed. Presented by Shane Driver NRP, FP-C, a paramedic with over 29 years of EMS experience. The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry is the ADA CERP Recognized Provider for this activity.

Learning Objectives

  • Demonstrate CPR for victims of all ages
  • Perform ventilation using barrier devices, bag-mask devices, and oxygen
  • Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
