
Treating Patients on the Autism Spectrum
About This Event
This course provides an educational foundation of Autism Spectrum Disorder for healthcare practitioners and personal care providers to instill confidence in clinical decision making and treatment planning and to inspire creativity in making chairside accommodations for safe and effective care. Topics include oral health risks prevalent among people with ASD, systemic conditions affecting people with ASD, techniques and equipment useful for clinical care, comparison of oral health aids to assist people with ASD, and collaborating with ASD specialists. Educational method: live Zoom lecture delivered as part of the ACDE Webinar Series presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry and the Association for Continuing Dental Education.
