About This Event

The Head and Neck Dissection Course is a 2½ day hands-on dissection course designed for general dentists and dental specialists. Participants will learn about the anatomy of the head and neck, emphasizing masticatory functions and clinical correlations with local anesthesia, facial pain, and temporomandibular joint problems. The course includes tailored instruction to meet the specific needs of participants, with two participants assigned to each dissection table. Attendees will review head and neck anatomy with clinical applications, particularly in relation to temporomandibular disorders, facial pain, local anesthesia, dental alveolar surgical procedures, and implant dentistry. The course will also cover anatomy relevant to TMJ and orthognathic surgical procedures for oral maxillofacial surgeons or residents.

Learning Objectives

  • Review head and neck anatomy with clinical application.
  • Review head and neck anatomy as it applies to the diagnosis and management of temporomandibular disorders and facial pain.
  • Review head and neck anatomy as it applies to local anesthesia, dental alveolar surgical procedures and implant dentistry.
  • Review of head and neck anatomy as it applies to TMJ and orthognathic or other surgical procedures for oral maxillofacial surgeons or residents.
