About This Event

This interactive course offers three options: Mastering Sedation Review (7 CE Credits), Mastering Nitrous Sedation (14 CE Credits), and Mastering Minimal Sedation (21 CE Credits). Each course is designed to meet the Oregon Board of Dentistry’s requirements for sedation permits. Participants will learn about pharmacology, patient selection, emergency management, and effective sedation techniques. The course includes hands-on participation and is structured to ensure safe and effective sedation practices in the dental office.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop a plan for every sedation appointment to ensure safe, effective minimal enteral sedation
  • Understand the pharmacology of oral sedatives and identify the most appropriate agent for each patient
  • Employ strategies for pre-emptive analgesia and post-op analgesia
  • Learn new techniques for administering flumazenil
  • Select appropriate patients for inhalational and minimal sedation
  • Review patient monitoring thoroughly.
