
Materials and Techniques to Improve Your Conservative, Adhesive Dentistry
About This Event
This course aims to improve your conservative dentistry skills by discussing treatment options and the materials and techniques used in adhesive dentistry. Participants will learn about direct restorations, including diagnosis, isolation, caries removal, cavity preparation, bonding techniques, and finishing. The course will also cover indirect restorations, focusing on contemporary dental ceramics. A hands-on component will allow participants to practice bonding ceramic crowns and restoring posterior composites in typodonts. This course is based on current evidence and literature, providing practical tips for immediate application in the dental clinic.
Learning Objectives
- Learn bonding protocols for lithium disilicate onlays and zirconia resin bonded bridges
- Learn cementation and bonding protocols for zirconia crowns with self-adhesive or RMGI cements
- Discuss design considerations with posterior and anterior bridges
- Discuss the thresholds for operative treatment for incipient carious lesions and treatment of deep caries
- Review the research on the best adhesive system to use for direct composites
- Learn new materials and techniques for Class II restorations
- Review materials and research for different materials for adjustment and polishing techniques for composites
