Optimizing Patient Intake for Sedation Dentistry

About This Event

Go beyond routine intake forms and instead focus on identifying your patient’s medical risks, dental anxiety, anesthesia limitations and appropriate sedation options. Building on knowledge of medical emergencies, you will learn how to take a more complete “snapshot” of the patient’s psychological and physiological profile to support better clinical decisions, safer anesthesia administration and improved patient comfort. This is not an anxiety treatment course, but a training session in risk awareness, planning and decision-making to help you anticipate and prevent complications.

Learning Objectives
– Evaluate patient histories and risk factors to identify potential medical complications, anxiety risks and anesthesia limitations before treatment
– Integrate psychological “snapshots” of patient anxiety into clinical decision-making around anesthesia and sedation
– Compare and apply appropriate minimal and moderate sedation options to improve patient comfort and safety during care

This Online Course can be taken as a stand-along course, or as a complement to the new Live Webinar on Dec. 12: Safe & Effective Ways to Treat the Anxious Patient (1 CE) and Online Course: Advanced Pain Control in Dentistry Overview: Local Anesthesia and Analgesics (1 CE), also by Dr. Nkansah.

Special Offer: Save 20% when you purchase more than one of the above courses. Use promo code ANESTHESIA25 by 11.30.2025.
