
Minimally Invasive Hands-on Workshop: Nonsurgical Caries Management and Atraumatic Restorative Treatment
About This Event
This comprehensive course includes a morning lecture reviewing scientific evidence for minimal interventions and bioactive restorative treatments (topical fluorides, silver diamine fluoride, glass ionomer cement, silver-modified ART/SMART, the Hall Technique, and GIC ART strip crowns). The afternoon is hands-on training guiding participants step-by-step through clinical placement of SDF, GIC sealants, ART, SMART, Hall Technique SSCs, and GIC ART strip crowns. Breakfast and lunch provided; limited seating.
Learning Objectives
- Review the scientific literature for nonsurgical caries treatments with topical fluorides and SDF
- Review the evidence for atraumatic restorative treatments
- Describe the case selection, materials, and clinical protocols for minimal interventions
- Perform tabletop GIC sealants, GIC fillings, Hall crowns, and GIC ART strip crowns
