Oral Surgery for General Practitioners: A Guided Hands-on Workshop
About This Event
This workshop is designed for general dentists seeking to acquire knowledge, enhance techniques and deepen their understanding of oral surgery within the dental practice. Whether you are a recent graduate seeking to gain more knowledge in oral surgery or a well-established practitioner looking to broaden your scope of practice, this program will teach you the skills to perform basic oral surgery procedures with confidence. Dr. Liu will cover patient selection and, more importantly, what types of cases should be referred to a specialist. During the hands-on portion, you will spend time working with dentoform models to demonstrate and practice techniques learned in the lecture. The workshop will include extraction techniques on a variety of teeth including third molar impactions, bone grafting for implant site development, suturing and creation of flaps. A basic oral surgery instrument tray with a selection of essential armamentarium will be provided for use in the course and a comprehensive list of instruments will be given to attendees. Participants are encouraged to send in photos or radiographs of their cases with all patient identification removed for specific case-based treatment planning.
