SPICE: NC Infection Control Curriculum for Dental Settings-

This electronically mediated online course educates learners to ensure and systematically assess that their dental facility has appropriate infection prevention policies and procedures consistent with NC communicable disease rule .0206. Successful completion of the post-course assessment provides the certification mandated by North Carolina Statute .0206. Jointly provided by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry and the North Carolina Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE). Course includes modules on NC communicable disease rules, infectious processes and transmission control in dental settings, decontamination/disinfection/sterilization principles, hand hygiene and asepsis, safe injection practices and outbreak management, OSHA bloodborne pathogen requirements, and NC medical waste management rules.
